Terrence J. McDonald Academic Advising Academy is an annual event that brings together the LSA advising community for a day of learning, connection, and collaboration. The Academy features keynote speakers who deliver thought-provoking insights relevant to the advising profession, as well as opportunities to engage with campus leadership for related important updates and discussions.
Attendees will also participate in facilitated table discussions centered on key topics shaping the advising landscape. This event is held each fall term and serves as a signature professional development opportunity for the LSA advising community.
The advising academy fosters excellence in advising by integrating both practical and theoretical approaches that strengthen advising practices within the College of Literature Science and the Arts (LSA). It also serves as a platform to share best practices and build stronger intellectual communities within and across departments.
The academy is named in honor of former dean Terrence J. McDonald, a dedicated advocate and visionary leader who has long championed the work and professional growth of academic advisors in LSA.
