Please use this form to request support for events, initiatives, and activities aligned with LSA's DEI Strategic Plan and LSA’s strategic mission. To allow time for processing, funding requests must be submitted at least 60 days prior to your scheduled event.After we receive a completed funding request form, Associate Dean Isis Settles may reach out to discuss details or request additional information.

We are especially interested in ideas that can:

• Significantly advance specific goals of the LSA DEI Strategic plan in observable and measurable ways 
• Engage a broad and heterogeneous community of faculty, students, staff, and the larger community
• Facilitate collaboration between UM units
• Grow over time in both impact and scope

As part of DEI 2.0, the Dean’s Office is conducting a 3-year “Climate Consultants” pilot program launching Fall 2023 to increase LSA unit leaders’ access to support for fostering a positive DEI climate. Consultants provide professional development and training services.

Sometimes inclusion means more than a welcoming smile. There are often practical issues involved to make sure that as many meeting attendees as possible can participate comfortably. This can include ensuring that people who have food allergies or religious requirements will find things they can eat, that Deaf and hard of hearing individuals will be able to enjoy videos, that nursing mothers know where to find lactation rooms, that signage will be widely understandable, and that anyone can find help when they need it

The ADA applies to any qualified individual with a disability. This includes patients, visitors, students, faculty, staff, and applicants.
The ADA Coordinators, situated in U-M's Equity, Civil Rights & Title IX Office, are the central contact point for disability information and resources. The ADA Coordinators provide consultation on accommodations and ADA/Section 504 compliance, offer training on disability-related topics, and provide conflict prevention/resolution in situations involving disability issues.

ADVANCE Program: RISE Committee - The RISE Committee offers in-depth and cross-disciplinary discussions of relevant higher education climate research, practices, and interventions.

(For issues impacting students) Campus Climate Support Staff - Reports of campus climate concerns by U-M students, faculty, and staff are addressed by the Campus Climate Support staff. The CCS staff is committed to providing support for students who may have been targets of or affected by campus climate concerns. CCS works to ensure that appropriate University resources and expertise are made available to any student who feels they have been harmed or negatively impacted. 

The Center for the Education of Women Plus (CEW+)

CEW+ addresses the challenges and issues uniquely faced by women, especially women of color, focusing on educational and financial supports, career advancement, salary negotiation, and creating communities that extend beyond U-M. The Center also serves as a convening organization for units across U-M that serve nontraditional students and will become the home of emerging programs designed to support underserved populations.

CEW changed their name to CEW+ to acknowledge the fact that their programs are increasingly utilized by underrepresented minorities, LGBTQ+ constituents, and various other marginalized populations that intersect with all genders.
