In the College of LSA, your education is about more than searching for answers in a textbook. There are real-world problems out there that need solving, and creative minds like yours—working with the best and brightest faculty—have the potential to impact the world. To that end, numerous programs in the College foster hands-on work, innovative thinking, and experiences that challenge and transform.
U-M can be a big place, but that doesn’t mean you have to feel lost. LSA has a host of advising and learning resources that can help you navigate a path that’s tailored to exactly what you want to study.
Let the experts at LSA’s Newnan Advising Center help you develop your academic and professional goals, make informed decisions, and gain independence through access to full-time, peer, and departmental advisors. The general academic advisor with whom you worked at orientation is assigned to you for your entire LSA experience. In addition to your general advising questions, they can help you with any transfer credit issues and your transition to U-M. To schedule an appointment with your advisor call 734.763.0332. Don’t remember who your advisor is? Call the Newnan Advising Center and they will let you know.
Transfer students have access to all the engaged learning opportunities offered by LSA except for a few reserved for first-year students. As a transfer student, it is important to note that application deadlines for some programs might approach soon after you arrive on campus.
For a detailed list of the application deadlines for these programs and information sessions specifically for transfer students to learn about them, see the LSA Transfer Student Program at Newnan Academic Advising Center.
