Professor Porter-Szucs will describe how Polish statesman Józef Pilsudski navigated the tumultuous ideological battles that came with the end of WWI. The lecture will examine how Pilsudski's greatest skill was actually his ability to compromise and negotiate, contradicting the legends of his implacability and decisiveness.
