Vanessa Cooper received a B.A. in English Literature from Grand Canyon University and earned a M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Arizona State University. She recently worked in public and academic libraries across the Phoenix Metropolitan area while teaching Language Arts to adults seeking to pass the high school equivalency exam. Vanessa's research focuses on Black literature from the 19th to the early 20th century; she is particularly interested in Black girlhood, Black feminism, and colorism.
