Edith A. Lewis, M.S.W., Ph.D. is Associate Professor Emerita of Social Work and Women's and Gender Studies. She has taught in the areas of cultural competence in interpersonal practice, family relationships, group process, behavioral theories and interventions, international social work, and community and social systems practice. Her publications include two texts, Empowering Practice with Women of Color (Co-Edited with Lorraine Gutierrez, Columbia University Press, 1999);and Multicultural Teaching in the University (Co-Edited with David Schoem, Linda Frankel, and Ximena Zuniga, Praeger, 1993), and several scholarly articles.
