About
Carolyn M. Sampselle, PhD, RNC, FAAN, received her BS and MS in Nursing from the Ohio State University and her PhD in Clinical Nursing Research from the University of Michigan. She is the Carolyne K. Davis Collegiate Professor of Nursing, holds joint appointments in Women’s and Gender Studies and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing. Her program of research on birth-related risk of behavioral prevention of urinary incontinence has been continuously funded by federal and private sources for more than 20 years. Professor Sampselle received the Pathfinder Distinguished Service Award in 2008 from the Friends of the National Institute of Nursing Research, in recognition of the benefits to women's health of her program of research and the Sarah Goddard Power Award from Academic Women’s Caucus in 2011. She directs the Community Engagement Program for the UM Clinical and Translational Science Award.
