About
Beth Glover Reed, an Associate Professor of Social Work and Women's and Gender Studies, received her Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati in Community and Clinical Psychology. Her particular research interests focus on the ways in which social and organizational structures and processes maintain and recreate patterns of inequity and or are more consistent with social justice goals. Her work includes studies of small groups, organizations, community coalitions, higher education, and the impact of particular policy initiatives. She has also done research on alcohol and other drug problems, particularly in women, and co-edited a series of volumes on treatment services for women with drug problems. Within this area, her major research interests are on identifying and changing the barriers that impede the development of effective policies and services to women in a male-defined field, and on the linkages between violence against women and problems with alcohol and other drugs.
