Performance by E. Patrick Johnson

E. Patrick Johnson stars in this one-man exploration into the southern black gay community. The performance is based on Johnson's award-winning book, Sweet Tea. An oral history inspired by the author's personal journey, the book examines the perceptions, angst, triumphs and vulnerabilities of this minority within a minority. E. Patrick Johnson, the Carlos Montezuma Professor of Performance Studies and African American Studies at the Northwestern University School of Communications, has published widely in the areas of race, class and gender, and performance.
