The Physics Department has funding available through the William Parkinson Travel Award Fund to provide students the opportunity to attend conferences, present posters, give talks and participate in other research-related travel opportunities.
Award criteria:
- Students must complete the application.
- Students must first/also apply to Rackham Conference Travel Grant or Rackham Research Grant.
- Applicants must be PhD students enrolled in the Physics Department and must be in good academic standing.
- Funds should be requested ahead of attending the conference. No application will be considered for funding retroactively
Award Amount: A student may receive only one grant award per academic year (September - August).
- Students can request up to $1,800 per academic year (September - August). Per diem (food) funding is not included.
Deadline: Awards are provided on a rolling basis. Applications must be received at least three weeks prior to the conference. Applications will be reviewed on a first come, first served basis.
Notification:
- Applicants will be notified of the results in writing.
- All awards are taxable; international students will have taxes withheld prior to receiving funds so actual award amount will be less than indicated above.
