Air:
Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW, aka Metro-Wayne County) is the closest airport servicing all major airline carriers domestically and internationally. It is located approximately 25 miles east of Ann Arbor. Driving time to Ann Arbor from the Detroit Metro Airport is approximately 30-40 minutes without traffic hold-ups.

The Ann Arbor Greyhound terminal is one block east of Main Street, approximately one mile from Central Campus and three miles from North Campus. Train:
Amtrak is a national train operation with many stops. The train station is on Depot Street about a mile away from the Michigan Union on Central Campus. Trains operate 24 hours a day and many cabs wait for passengers in case a ride is needed. Call 800.872.7245 for route and price information.

Getting around campus:
All buildings on Central Campus are within walking distance. University buses with frequent stops on South, Central, Medical, and North campuses run 7 days per week year round. Find complete route information and schedules. The city of Ann Arbor and surrounding communities also have a bus system.
Parking in Ann Arbor:
Metered parking is available throughout town. Most street meters are enforced Mon.-Sat. 8 a.m.-6 p.m. There are also parking structures in many locations.
University parking facilities are identified by signs posted at the entrances indicating the location number, parking tier, permits required, and enforcement hours. The signs also indicate whether visitor parking is permitted. The University has a few metered visitor spaces. Between the Central and Medical campuses, try the Palmer Drive Parking Structure for short-term parking. Unless otherwise posted, U-M staff lots and structures in the Central Campus area allow free public parking (except during special events) Mon.-Sat. after 6 p.m. and all day Sun.
