Michigan MAP is a chapter of MAP International, a graduate student-run organization aimed at promoting access to philosophy by removing barriers that impede participation. Our chapter is dedicated to expanding the range of topics and methodologies represented in analytic philosophy. We also work to bring a focus on pedagogical techniques that widen access to philosophy. To these ends, we host talks, reading groups, and workshops throughout the year. You can find this and past years’ events below.
Anyone interested in learning more about Michigan MAP should write to phil-grad-coord@umich.edu to be put in touch with current organizers. More information and resources from the American Philosophical Association can be found here.
COMPASS is a workshop designed to broaden access to graduate school in philosophy. It brings together students from a wide variety of backgrounds for a weekend of philosophical discussion, networking, and mentoring.
