Research Engagement Student Coordinator
About
Grant Mullins is the Research Engagement Student Coordinator for the Michigan Research and Discovery Scholars (MRADS). An alumnus of the University of Michigan, Grant was an active member of the College of LSA’s Honors Program. Through the LSA Honors Program, he spent a summer in a fellowship position, led thesis writing workshops throughout the Fall 2022 and Winter 2023 academic terms, and completed an honors thesis in the field of U.S. History. Grant’s favorite period in history is the early Cold War. He is particularly interested in the history of U.S. foreign relations. Further understanding the United States’ influence abroad is a topic of endless fascination for him.
Grant aspires to be a lifelong learner and educator. One of his more ambitious goals is to earn a Ph.D. in history. Whether as a professor, advisor, or administrator, he aspires to use this advanced degree to help students think more deeply about the presence of the past and to achieve their educational goals. Overall, Grant wishes to further human knowledge and give back to academic communities in ways that he knows best. When he is not glued to his laptop researching, you can find Grant curled up in a quiet spot reading, in the kitchen cooking gumbo, embarking on a long hike, or playing video games with his close friends.
