Bio: Hi, my name is Lizzy Tessier and I am a Junior studying English, German, and Political Science. During my Sophomore year, I studied at the Albert-Ludwigs Universität Freiburg as a part of the AYF study abroad program. Currently I am living in the Max Kade Haus, trying to immerse myself in as much German as I can while back. I have experience working in an archive here at the University of Michigan Special Collections Research Center, where I worked as a Research Service Assistant. Furthermore, during my time in Germany I worked at a local Gymnasium as an assistant teaching English to local students. While at Michigan, I was a part of the underclassmen Honors College and will be continuing on to complete my Honors Thesis in English literature. In the future I hope to attend gratitude school and become a professor. I also have an interest in being a volunteer teaching English in the Peace Corps after graduation and I am on track to receive a certificate through University of Michigan’s Peace Corps Prep program. I love all things humanities and would love to discuss any questions pertaining to studying German here at Michigan and beyond.
