Bio: Hi, I'm Daphne! I am a junior majoring in Economics and Political Science and minoring in German. I grew up bilingual, speaking German with my dad and attending the German School in London from 4th grade until the end of high school. I started taking upper-level German classes at Michigan to maintain my native fluency and discovered how interesting, continuously challenging, yet rewarding the German curriculum here is.
Outside of the classroom, I serve as the Outreach Coordinator for Schriftlich, Michigan's German-language journal; Vice Chair of Wolverine Consulting Group; a content creator and photographer for Spoon University's Michigan chapter; and a member of Team Enough, a youth advocacy program dedicated to advocating for gun control. I'd love to discuss any of these extracurriculars, my experience as an international student, my favourite German classes thus far, or insights from my past two internships in Germany - one at the Haribo headquarters and another at a law firm in Berlin.
