Majors: BCN, German, Biomolecular Sciences
Bio: Hi! My name is Arthi Narayanan and I am a junior at UMich. I’m from Rochester Hills, MI majoring in German, BCN, and Biomolecular Sciences. I am currently active on campus as a tutor and am taking part in a neuroscience research lab! I began learning German in 8th grade, purely for fun. I ended up falling in love with the language and culture and continued learning German in college. Being in the German department has given me the opportunity to study abroad in Freiburg at the Goethe Institut for 3 months over the summer of 2024, which was an amazing experience! My education in German has been especially integral in my other degrees as well and has introduced a new depth in my understanding of people and the brain. Outside of my academics, I love playing the piano, crocheting, and trying cafes with my friends on campus.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions regarding studying abroad, planning German classes, navigating a double/triple major, etc. I would also be glad to help out with anything else, including doing research, being pre-med, getting involved on campus, and more!
