About
Charlotte Bayer joined the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures in 2026. She graduated from Portland State University in June of 2026 with an Honors BA in German. She has studied German and American Studies in Tübingen and is a four-time attendee of PSU’s Deutsche Sommerschule am Pazifik.
Charlotte’s undergraduate thesis examined articles on German literary culture, art history, and classical theater, as well as themes of class identity and Romantic nationalism in the student periodical Wünschelruthe (1818).
At PSU, she worked as a departmental German tutor, SPARK for German intern, and as an administrative assistant for the Deutsche Sommerschule am Pazifik.
