The May 2020 issue of the German Studies Review features five current or former U-M German department members. PhD alumni Samuel Heidepriem and Kathryn Sederberg have articles in the issue. PhD alum Seth Howes' book Moving Images on the Margins: Experimental Film in Late Socialist East Germany is reviewed favorably in the Book Review section. A fourth PhD alum, Jonathan Wipplinger, contributed a review in his area of expertise (Weimar / Music). Finally, Assistant Professor Kira Thurman features prominently in the Seminar Report on “German-Speaking Women, Africa, and the African Diaspora”.
