The Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology is delighted to present the EEB First Paper Award to recognize Camden Gowler on his first lead-authored publication.
Gowler, C.D., Leon K.E., Hunter M.D., & de Roode J.C. Secondary defense chemicals in milkweed reduce parasite infection in monarch butterflies, Danaus plexippus. Journal of Chemical Ecology 41:520-523. (2015)
Gowler was presented with a certificate signed by Professor Patricia Wittkopp, associate chair for graduate studies, and Professor Diarmaid Ó Foighil, EEB chair, at the spring picnic. He also received a $30 gift card to a local book store. Gowler’s advisor is Professor Meghan Duffy.
