Dr. Nicté Ordóñez-Garza’s Summer of Fieldwork and Collaboration

Fieldwork in Guatemala this past summer was about much more than scientific discovery for Dr. Nicté Ordóñez-Garza. “I learned so many things about my own country and visited places I had never been before,” she said.

Herbarium Spotlight: Where Botany Meets Art

Recently, art students visited the U-M Herbarium for a hands-on program that brought science and art together. Working from specimens in the Herbarium’s collections, the students observed plants closely and translated their observations into original art.
