Introducing EEB’s new graduate program assistant
We are delighted to introduce Nathan Sadowsky, graduate program assistant, who began this role in mid-January 2019. Sadowsky supports the Frontiers and traditional master’s programs in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology with a focus on increasing diversity. He is responsible for all aspects of recruitment, admission and student progress in the master’s programs, and supports the EEB Diversity Committee. He works closely with Kati Ellis, graduate program coordinator.
Prior to joining the University of Michigan staff, he worked at Bard College at Simon's Rock in the Office of Campus Life as a member of the student support staff and as an office coordinator. Before that, he worked on special projects and provided staff support for the Council on Equity and Inclusion in the Office of the Provost. Sadowsky has also taught lab sections in physics and mathematics and for his bachelor's degree, he studied biology and mathematics.
“I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone in EEB and finding out what ways I can make a difference in the department,” he said. “I want students to know that I'm here to help however I can and that I'm committed to advocating on their behalf to the best of my ability.”
Sadowsky is currently living in Detroit, after having lived in Chicago, Portland and Western Massachusetts. In his free time, he enjoys baking (yum), making ice cream (double yum), and bar trivia (sounds like fun). His easy laugh is a fun addition to the office.
If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of meeting him, stop by room 2221 in the Biological Sciences Building’s administration suite to say hello.
