Dr. William Stroebel (Comp Lit PhD, 2018) was awarded the 2018-2019 Charles Bernheimer Prize by the American Comparative Literature Association for his dissertation, titled “Fluid Books, Fluid Borders: Modern Greek and Turkish Book Networks in a Shifting Sea.”.

He also received the ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Award. The award recognizes “exceptional and unusually interesting work produced by doctoral students.” The dissertation committee was chaired by Vassilios Lambropoulos and included Tatjana Aleksic, Kader Konuk, Artemis Leontis, and Karla Mallette.

Dr. Stroebel is currently the 2018-2019 Hannah Seeger Davis Postdoctoral Fellow at the Seeger Center for Hellenic Studies at Princeton University.
