About
Mayura is a 5th Year Graduate Student. In her first two years, she conducted spectral and timing analyses of black hole X-ray binaries with data from Swift, Chandra, NICER, and XMM-Newton. More recently, she has worked on understanding the accretion flow of Sagittarius A*, combining high-resolution Chandra spectroscopy and Wolf-Rayet wind simulations. She currently is using signal separation techniques on the Galactic Center region to separate overlapping components. She is passionate about outreach involving young future scientists, and has been involved with teaching high school students in the US and in Malaysia. When she is not working, she spends her time reading, doing puzzles, baking, or making colorful pasta.
