WRITING 305

MWrite Writing Fellows

Writing 305 is a one-credit course designed to help students gain the skills and knowledge they need to succeed as Writing Fellows in the MWrite Program. By taking this course, Fellows will develop strategies to work effectively with students in their MWrite Courses including how to hold office hours, how to give feedback and grade assignments, and how to use Canvas to view student submissions and peer reviews. 

Learning Objectives: During this course, we will focus on: 

  • Understanding the content of writing-to-learn assignments;

  • Developing and practicing approaches to assist students with writing-to-learn assignments such as working with students in office hours, using the Peer Review tool in Canvas, giving feedback, and grading;

  • Defining and applying inclusive tutoring practices;

  • Creating a common culture and practice as Writing Fellows.

Course Requirements

Acceptance as a M-Write Writing Fellow.
