About
Xianni got her B.A. and M.A. in Sociology from Fudan University. Due to her long-term interest in labor welfare, she is very intrigued by both labor studies and the history of capitalism. Therefore, in her future research, she is eager to focus on specific labor processes but also looks forward to exploring how labor conditions have developed to the present through a comparative and historical perspective. In her previous research, Xianni paid much attention to educational inequality, especially the urban-rural educational inequality in China.
In addition, Xianni and her friends have established an NGO in China dedicated to serving the children of Chinese rural-to-urban migrant workers. The NGO aims to alleviate the burden of education on working-class families while probing the possibility of labor solidarity. It has always been her mission to promote real change beyond research.
