About
Casey Adrian is a PhD student in Social Work & Sociology at the University of Michigan, where he studies community-based sexual health promotion.
Casey documents the stories of grassroots health advocacy organizations from the early HIV/AIDS epidemic, honoring the community-based prevention campaigns created by young LGBTQ activists during the height of the crisis.
As an action researcher and macro social worker, Casey partners with organizations to co-design and evaluate programs related to sexual health promotion and sexual violence prevention. This includes partnerships with community-based organizations across North America, as well as the Sexual Citizenship Project at the University of Michigan.
Prior to doctoral studies, Casey served as the Assistant Director of PRYDE, an action research group within the Bronfenbrenner Center for Translational Research at Cornell University. He is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the State of New York.
