About
Adrian graduated with a degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Southern Methodist University in May of 2025 and has since worked in a research lab focused on improving mathematics education. Pursued in collaboration with a large school district, his independent research examined how school structures might unknowingly perpetuate racial inequality in the Advanced Placement program and proposed solutions to reduce it. Originally from the rural town of Grandview, Texas, Adrian looks forward to exploring how rural people in poverty form and use their networks to share resources amid welfare constraints. Of special interest is how rural people navigate race, class, and religious diversity to meet their needs, as well as how the work of community formation and bonding is distributed among family members and by gender. Adrian loves long-distance running, reading, and playing the saxophone.
