About
My research examines how learners seek and provide academic help, with the goal of understanding how these interactions support learning and development across diverse stages and contexts. To advance this goal, I pursue three interrelated lines of inquiry: (1) investigating how learners evaluate the help received during help-seeking and help-giving interactions; (2) identifying the socio-cultural factors (e.g., classroom practices, cultural values) that motivate students’ engagement in academic help-seeking and help-giving interactions; and (3) examining how digital technologies (e.g., online discussion forums, generative artificial intelligence) mediate learners’ experiences with academic support. By connecting these perspectives, my work informs the design of learning environments that promote effective, culturally responsive, and developmentally supportive help-related interactions in academic settings.
