About
Faculty Advisor: Isis Settles
kelsie m. thorne is a doctoral student in the Personality and Social Contexts area and MSW student at the School of Social Work.
Through my experience with various psychological methods and research on topics such as social identity, bias and discrimination, mentorship, spirituality and well-being, and social media, I have established myself as a competent interdisciplinary scholar-practitioner. My studies in social work exponentially enhances my ability to connect with research participants and expands my knowledge on the interplay of complex organizational systems, social identities, mistreatment, and psychological outcomes. My current research examines women's experiences of mistreatment and well-being in the workplace. This expertise empowers me to educate others about barriers that harm women and queer communities of color, as well as how to dismantle them.
