Erick R. Aguinaldo graduated from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) with a BA in Psychology and a BA in Women & Gender Studies. At CSUF, he was a part of the McNair Scholars and Maximizing Access to Research Careers programs, as well as an active member of the Department of Psychology's 6th Floor Familia. Under the mentorship of Dr. Kristin Beals and Dr. Jessie Peissig, Erick carried out independent research projects on sexual objectifcation and social perceptions of varying levels of makeup application.
Broadly, Erick is interested in gender norms, stereotypes, and socialization. His emerging work with Dr. Monique Ward focuses specifically on masculinity and the influences of the media in constructing boys' and young men's perceptions of what it means to be a man.
In his free time, Erick writes poetry, tags on walls, and loves spending time with his sisters and daughter.
