Dianna Alvarado

Broadly, my research examines environmental factors that affect health and academic outcomes in students of color. Recently, I have explored how engaging in protective strategies (e.g., self-compassion) can combat imposter feelings among racial/ethnic minoritized college students. My second line of research aims to explore contextual predictors of maladaptive sleep habits among Latinx STEM students. My work often utilizes a qualitative and/or quantitative approach to investigate how the academic environment may play a significant role in students' negative health and academic experiences.
