Our lab studies the eitiology and treatment of people across the spectrum of wellness and illness, focusing on mood and psychotic populations.
The goal of my research work is to understand the relationship between the brain, emotion, cognition and behavior in psychopathology in order to further develop our novel treatment—Mood Lifters (see mood-lifters.com) and to contribute to the understanding of those illnesses. With current graduate students, the main focus of my research will be to utilize the Prechtar longitudinal data set to further understand the causes and consequences of bipolar disorder. However, future students will be encouraged to help develop and test Mood Lifters in multiple populations including psychotic and affective disorders.
