Edward E. Smith Collegiate Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience; Co-Director, functional MRI Center; Senior Editor, Psychological Science
About
We seek to uncover the psychological and neural architecture of cognitive control in its various forms. This includes basic research on issues of working memory, distraction, attentional mechanisms, and cognitive training, and it includes translational research that applies basic knowledge to such important issues as difficulty with self-control, ADHD, Major Depressive Disorder, and aging. Research techniques include behavioral testing, functional neuroimaging using fMRI, and electrical stimulation techniques (e.g., transcranial direct current stimulation).
