Yun Gi Hwang — Senior, Psychology Honors with Spanish minor
I am working in the Language and Literacy Lab under the supervision of Dr. Ioulia Kovelman and Nia Nickerson. My senior honors thesis focuses on how parents influence children's bilingualism and culture and how that affects children's literacy and academic outcomes. I have read articles for literature review, written the introduction and methods section, and have continued to collect data by performing literacy assessments on children and having parents fill out questionnaires. I am currently analyzing data to determine the relationship between language and culture in bilingual children.
