Project Outreach wins major award.
Project Outreach has won a major award for their work with the Glacier Hills Nursing Home.
The award comes from the MI chapter of the national association for not-for-profit providers of care and services for the elderly called LeadingAge (https://www.leadingage.org/). The state chapter gives out 1 individual award and 1 group award each year; Project Outreach is receiving the State-wide group award for 2018.
The University of Michigan's Project Outreach program has impacted Glacier Hills Senior Living Community for over 13 years. Project Outreach is a course offered at the University of Michigan combing classroom learning with practical experience in a healthcare setting. Each student invests 40 hours per semester with the residents. Approximately 60 students are assigned to Glacier Hills each semester. Over the years, Project Outreach has become an integral part of Glacier Hills' volunteer program.
