Joseph Gone Named Fellow of the Guggenheim Memorial Foundation
Associate Professor Joseph P. Gone has been named a Fellow of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.
In its ninetieth annual competition for the United States and Canada, the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation has awarded 177 Fellowships (including one joint Fellowship) to a diverse group of 178 scholars, artists, and scientists. Appointed on the basis of prior achievement and exceptional promise, the successful candidates were chosen from a group of almost 3,000 applicants.
Gone plans to use the Guggenheim fellowship to help fund his research next year atMontana State where he will be serving as the Katz Family Endowed Chair in Native American Studies. The title of his proposal was "Rethinking American Indian Mental Health."
