Third Annual UM-UPR Collaborative Symposium: Citizenship and Identity in the Classroom
Watch the live-stream: http://galileo.uprrp.edu/
Taking citizenship and identity as its central theme, the 2017 Symposium on March 2-3, 2017 in San Juan, Puerto Rico features presentations by scholars working across various disciplines, methods, regions of the world, and historical periods. Through this encounter we seek to create a space in which faculty and graduate students from the University of Michigan and the University of Puerto Rico can share the innovative and diverse ways in which they are studying the concept of citizenship. We invite discussion on how researchers and educators are engaging with the subject of citizenship, as well as its many intersections: with civil and human rights, political participation and traditions, migration, memory, gender, race, sexuality, neoliberalism, globalization, nationalism, and cultural policies, among others.
