The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (LACS) encourages faculty to foster research, dialogue, and understanding on Latin America and the Caribbean.
LACS accepts requests for event co-sponsorship on a rolling basis. Events that are interdisciplinary in nature are highly encouraged. To be eligible for funding, the event and organization must be affiliated with the University of Michigan. Resources are limited, and all requests are subject to funding availability.
The request form must be submitted at least 30 days in advance of the event. Organizers are encouraged to submit requests before the start of the Fall or Winter term to enhance the likelihood of support. Requests for funding should include:
Brief description of the event
Event date and location
An itemized budget, including information about other sources of funding sought and/or confirmed.
Financial contact information
Additional Requirements: Approved funding requests must include LACS as a sponsor in all publicity, acknowledgments of support, and on any recordings of the event.
