The International Institute is dedicated to providing generous financial support, with over $4 million in funding awarded annually for research abroad, international internships, and the study of less commonly taught languages, as well as conference travel and event funding.
The II administers several fellowships and grants to support new and returning MIRS students with tuition costs, including some awards for which all students are eligible upon application to the program.
Eligible students are strongly encouraged to apply for Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) awards, which are offered by six II area studies centers. U.S. citizens and permanent residents may apply under a separate application from admission.
For a full overview of current funding offered through the International Institute, please visit our Funding page. The II Fellowships & Grants team can provide information and assistance as you consider your options and apply.
