These initiatives include, but are not limited to:

  • Access to teacher-developed lesson plans.
  • Utilization of the University of Michigan (U-M) library resources.

Our outreach initiatives often involve partnerships with other universities and institutions, departments within the University of Michigan (U-M), and collaborations among the National Resource Centers (NRCs) at our institute. These NRCs fund our outreach initiatives and many other activities, including the Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship (FLAS) Program. 

Since 1960, the U.S. Department of Education Title VI grants have supported U-M. Presently, II is home to six NRCs – each of which has earned recognition through national peer-reviewed competitions administered and awarded by the Title VI program.
