The International Institute (II) is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive community for all individuals through education, engagement, and innovation to actively contribute to global citizenship. At the II, we value and respect people of all identities and backgrounds, including those who are underrepresented and marginalized in higher education and our larger community as a whole. We aim to bring together diverse faculty, scholars, staff, and students to enrich the university’s intellectual environment, and we are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The II engages with LSA-wide initiatives by encouraging staff to serve as Inclusive Culture Liaisons. These employees support, empower, and/or stand up for others who promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) by educating and engaging staff within the II on diversity matters. They are aware of DEI-related resources that staff may find useful as well as the multiple reporting methods on campus for matters pertinent to DEI. Liaisons communicate information from LSA about DEI survey initiatives, training, events, and other efforts to staff.
