The Women’s and Gender Studies administrative staff team recently met at Food Gatherers for team bonding and a volunteer opportunity. Food Gatherers is a food bank and rescue program in Washtenaw County that supports more than 140 community partners in creating free or low-cost food availability, trainings, and service programs.
As a team, WGS staff helped sort 2,271 pounds of produce to be delivered to community partners in need. Undergraduate Program Coordinator Aimee Allain says, “it was a great opportunity to connect with both our team and the broader community in service of a more equitable food system.”
