Patricia Gurin, a professor emerita of Women's Studies and Psychology, has been selected as the winner of the 2019 James S. Jackson Distinguished Career Award for Diversity Scholarship. The award, given biennially, honors a faculty member who has made significant contributions to "understanding diversity and addressing disparities in contemporary society" through their research and scholarship, according to LSA's National Center for Institutional Diversity.
Gurin will receive the award and deliver her lecture, "Collectivity, Community, and Connections in the Pursuit of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion," at 4:00 PM on Monday, November 18 in East Hall 1324. A reception will be held immediately afterward. Attendees should RSVP to the award ceremony here.
