Lilia Cortina, Chair and Professor of Women's and Gender Studies, Professor of Psychology, and Professor of Management and Organizations, won the 2025 Regents' Award for Distinguished Public Service.
Established by the Senate Advisory Committee on University Affairs (SACUA) in 1990, this award honors extraordinary distinction in public service by members of the University Faculty. Impressed by her commitment and contributions to addressing sexual harassment and hostile work environments, SACUA named Professor Cortina for the award.
SACUA highlights the lasting impact of Professor Cortina's expert legal testimony, co-authorship of a landmark report, and continuing work at the University of Michigan through the ADVANCE program and as a University Diversity and Social Transformation Professor.
