Jennifer Jones Wins 2024 Individual Award for Outstanding Contributions to Undergraduate Education in Race & Ethnicity Instruction
"Courses that satisfy the LSA Race & Ethnicity (R&E) degree requirement provide discussion concerning the meaning of race, ethnicity, and racism; racial and ethnic intolerance and resulting inequality as it occurs in the United States or elsewhere; and comparisons of discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, social class, or gender. The Individual Award for Contributions to Undergraduate Education in Race & Ethnicity Instruction acknowledges the particular challenges, opportunities, and rewards of excellence in this distinctive area of the LSA curriculum."
Jennifer Dominique Jones (Jennifer Jones), Professor of History and Women's and Gender Studies, has been awarded the 2023-2024 Individual Award for Outstanding Contributions to Undergraduate Education in Race & Ethnicity Instruction.
The award recognizes, "the particular challenges, opportunities, and rewards of excellence in this distinctive area of the LSA curriculum," and honors faculty members who are especially dedicated to enhancing this education in their classrooms or academic programs.
