A lively crowd of family, friends, and faculty joined together in the Michigan League Ballroom on Friday, May 3, to celebrate the achievements of 51 students graduating with degrees in Women's Studies and Gender & Health. After the assembled had the opportunity to mingle over breakfast, Department Chair Elizabeth Wingrove welcomed them and provided remarks about the unusual commitment Women's Studies students show to both academic and activist pursuits. Director of Undergraduate Studies Sara McClelland then beseeched students to carry their education with them as they move beyond Michigan: to read carefully, to think critically, and to ask questions. Professor McClelland also presented the following awards:
- Feminist Practice Award: Amani Echols
- Dorothy Gies McGuigan Prize: Iman Ali and Jo Chang
