Kerry Fitzgerald, a recent recipient of a Masters in Acting from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, used Professor Traub’s 2002 book, The Renaissance of Lesbianism in Early Modern England, to re-write Shakespeare’s romantic comedy. Now centered on the homoerotic intimacies of Rosalind and Celia, the play will be performed in London this May at the Pleasance Theatre. The Theatre will also offer youth LGBTQ workshops to help young people find depictions of themselves and their love in Shakespeare's classic works.
