Feminist Scholars Engaging the Public: A Panel Discussion

Friday, December 6, 2013
12:00 AM
Michigan Room, Michigan League

As feminist scholars, we use a range of communication vehicles to engage members of the public with our scholarship, e.g., news media, social media, blogs, digital archives, legal testimony, and "popular press" publications. Such avenues of communication allow us to step outside the ivory tower and take feminist work to non-academic audiences. What happens when we do? This panel will convene feminist academics from different disciplines to share their experience with communication venues such as these. The goal is to foster lively dialogue and stimulate innovative thinking about how to extend the reach of feminist scholarship beyond academia.=
