Health Sciences Peer Facilitator
About
Sydney is a senior hailing from Hartland, Michigan a small town north of Ann Arbor and since moving has entirely fallen in love with the city-living of Ann Arbor. Sydney is earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and Sociology with a sub-plan focus in Law, Justice, and Social Change. She aspires to be a physician and plan on attending medical school after taking a gap year. Sydney loves UROP because apart from the chance to really learn about her field (neuroscience is coolest through the lens of an fMRI), this program has also given her the greatest chance to grow as a Peer Facilitator and mentor to so many other pre-med students like herself. "We created a cohort that supports each other and work to tear down the competitive atmosphere surrounding this field of study."
In her free time she loves to explore the restaurants downtown (current favorites include Fritas and the Jolly Pumpkin rooftop), go to the docks, and volunteer at Mott.
