Peer Facilitator Ceremony Program
Congratulations to the amazing UROP Peer Facilitators on completing their journey as undergraduates at The University of Michigan. We are so fortunate that you chose to dedicate a considerable amount of your undergraduate experience with the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program.
We celebrate you and all of your accomplishments, it is no small achievement alone to graduate with your undergraduate degree, let alone under the current circumstances. You are amazing and UROP is better for having you as an undergraduate researcher and Peer Facilitator.
A two-way street: UROP Peer Facilitators support first-year, second-year, and transfer students in their research and academics — and learn from them in the process
The impact of the Peer Facilitator component to the UROP program is two-fold: it provides a platform of support and academic engagement for younger students, but also empowers older students to become teachers and leaders. PFs act as a bridge for student success by combating imposterism and inequity, and contributing to student retention and achievement. UROP accomplishes this by creating the opportunity for younger students to develop strong professional relationships with older students.
